Discover Nirmalpokhari: A Scenic Hill Community Near Pokhara
Nirmalpokhari (निर्मल पोखरी) is a scenic locality on the southern hills of Pokhara Metropolitan City in Kaski District, Nepal. Formerly a standalone Village Development Committee, it is now administratively integrated into Pokhara as Ward No. 21.
Set at an elevation of around 1,100 m above sea level, Nirmalpokhari offers a blend of peaceful village life and panoramic views of the Pokhara Valley, the Himalayan mountain range, and the surrounding lakes including Rupa, and Begnas as well as newly build Pokhara International Airport. The area is known for its agricultural heritage, particularly orange and coffee farming, and you’ll find lush terraces, forests, and family‑run farms that give visitors a taste of traditional rural life. Nirmalpokhari also has several local temples and cultural spots, making it both a peaceful residential community and an attractive destination for nature lovers and hikers. In recent years, improved road access and the opening of homestays, resorts, and picnic spots have made it increasingly popular with tourists and locals who want to escape the busier city center for scenic views, fresh air, and a slower pace of life. Despite its proximity to the city (about 10 km from central Pokhara), Nirmalpokhari retains its rural charm and is gradually gaining recognition as an alternative destination for visitors seeking natural beauty and village‑style experiences.
